Sometimes, the smart switch is stuck in a relay state—meaning it's not responding to commands or stuck in either the ‘on’ or ‘off’ position—you can reset it by disconnecting all wires from the switch. Wait for about 1 minute, then insert the wires back. This process forces a reset, allowing the smart switch to exit the relay state and function normally again. If the issue persists, please follow the steps outlined below.
Step 1: Ensure that the smart switch is properly disconnected from live and neutral wiring before attempting to reset it.
Step 2: Take a wire or paperclip, bend it into a continuous U-shape, and insert it into both holes for a few seconds and it should reset
Step 3: If resetting fails, try inserting the neutral wire into the switch N slot first. Then, repeat steps 1 and 2.
This usually happens when smart switches experience a sudden surge of power, known as inrush current, particularly from LED lights which will potentially cause damage to the switch's internal components.
